What programs do you use to make your itineraries?
I use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Notepad. Yes, I work on a Windows computer, but you can access these programs on non-Windows machines, too, and there are also equivalents for Apple users. I realize there are apps these days for putting itineraries together, but I like more control over my documents than those apps generally allow their users.
How often do you travel internationally?
I travel out of the United States once or twice a year, and I travel domestically a handful of times, too (usually every few months). I also try to experience as much as possible in my home region, Southern California. I’d travel more often if finances and my schedule permitted.
How many countries have you traveled to?
As of late 2024, I’ve been to 17 countries on five continents. My first foreign trip was England in 1999 and my latest was Mexico in August 2024. I didn’t travel internationally for 20 years before I started up again in June 2020.
Do you actually use the websites you’re affiliated with?
Indeed, I do use the websites I’m affiliated with, and I also (mostly) link activities I’ve done myself, so I know they’re enjoyable. I always try to have personal experience with my blog topics. I usually get my blog topic ideas from my personal travels anyway; otherwise, I’d just be parroting ideas other people have already talked about.
Did you really take all the photographs on this site?
Yes, all the photographs are those I’ve taken in the last 35+ years. I do use editing software – mostly because I’m a stickler for blue skies, and I hate washed-out overcast days. But yes, I held the camera for every single picture and piece of media you see on this website, as well as for all the visual media you see anywhere that’s associated with my name.
Do you take content requests for your site or others?
Yes, I’ll guest write for your website, and I’ll also entertain a guest blog from you. I’ve been a writer for 20 years, and I’m happy to write about anything (even if it’s not travel – I’ve written millions of words as a ghost-writer). I have a graduate degree in writing and an undergraduate degree in visual and written media.
Will you review a product or travel experience upon request?
Sure, I’ll review your product or travel experience. I’ll even return your product (if it’s one that’s reusable) after I review it, as long as you pay the shipping. You may expect an honest and in-depth review. Like everyone, I love free stuff, but I’m not really a “stuff” focused person. However, I’m quite keen on reviewing your travel property or adventure experience.
What do you charge for your itinerary services?
I charge on a case-by-case basis. If you want a weekend in Mexico City, that’ll probably cost less than two weeks in Cambodia. Contact me with the details of your trip, and I’ll reply with the estimated cost for helping you with your trip. I don’t make the reservations for you, but I do give you all the information necessary to complete your bookings and embark with confidence.
